The all-new Buick Regal has already built a strong following for its unique combination of European-style driving dynamics, premium appointments and sophisticated styling. Now, there’s yet another reason for making the Buick a top choice in its segment: The Regal has been named a “Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
That puts the Regal in select company, said Clovis GM Dealers, as only vehicles that have electronic stability control and receive the highest possible scores in the IIHS’ front, side, rear and rollover crash testing are honored with this recognition. Notably, the Regal is now the seventh GM product to be named a “Top Safety Pick” since the safety organization introduced its new rollover roof-strength test earlier this year.
“The Buick Regal is not only catching the attention of consumers with its design and responsive driving performance but also by being a leader in its class for safety,” said John Schwegman, vice president of marketing for Buick. “The IIHS Top Safety Pick Award acknowledges our commitment to offering our customers great safety systems that enhance their driving experience.”
Helping the Regal achieve this important award is a full complement of standard safety features, including the proven StabiliTrak electronic stability control system, full-function traction control, driver and front-passenger safety-belt pretensioners and load limiters, a pedal-release system that protects the driver’s feet in case of a collision, and a wide range of air bags. According to GMC IN, also important to the Regal’s ability to protect occupants before, during and after a crash is GM’s innovative OnStar system, which can automatically notify emergency-response personnel if an airbag deploys—even if the vehicle’s occupants can’t.
Add in a responsive direct-injection 2.4-liter EcoTec engine that can deliver 30 mpg highway, along with a premium Harmon Kardon sound system, a navigation unit, heated/leather driver and front-seat passenger seats, and Bluetooth capability, and it’s safe to say the Regal offers plenty of what today’s Miami Buick Dealers customers demand in a high-quality sports sedan.
